A Letter to Our Patients

Hi Valued Patients,

Hands holding globeWith all the continuing changes occurring surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, we wanted to reach out (without touching, obviously because that’s not ‘physical distancing’) and update you on what we are doing at our clinics, update you on our services and reassure you regarding our clinic hygiene procedure.

Date of update: 20/05/2020

If you have seen us in the clinic over the last 2 months you will be aware that we have been open with some changes to clinic infection control.

We are classified as an ‘essential health service’ so we have been lucky enough to stay open and keep treating patients. As we enter WA’s Phase 2 of Covid restrictions being lifted we wanted to update you on what is going on in our clinics.

What we are doing in the clinics:

  • All services are available- including physiotherapy, chiropractic and massage.
  • Telehealth online appointments available for physiotherapy, chiropractic, hypnotherapy and nutrition. (please call reception to discuss)
  • All staff are working normal hours with staff (reception and practitioners) taking extra time between appointments to disinfect common areas, treatment rooms and equipment
  • All staff have completed Infection Control Training (Covid-19) issued by the WA Department of Health
  • All staff are continuing to maintain social distancing in common areas and hand hygiene
  • We continue to maintain our highest level of infection control procedures at all clinics (please see comprehensive list below for details)
  • Practitioners have PPE (personal protective equipment) such as masks and gloves and are happy to wear these as patient’s requests
  • We screen new patients coming to the clinic for flu-like symptoms prior to treatment

What you can do to assist us in our efforts to:

  • Maintain good hand hygiene and social distancing when coming to the clinic
  • Reschedule appointments if you are feeling unwell (preferably with 12 hours notice)
  • Minimise your time spent in the clinic before & after appointments
  • Pay for treatment with card if possible (rather than cash)

Telehealth Online Appointments Now Available

If you can’t come into the clinic for whatever reason, we can offer online video appointments for physiotherapy and chiropractic at all of our clinic locations. Please call reception to make a booking for a time that suits you.

We can use a remote, online video appointment to make an initial assessment & diagnosis, explanation of your condition, recommend stretches and exercises and work with ongoing patients on their treatment management plans and rehabilitation.

Date of update: 07/04/2020

We have received clarification from Massage and Myotherapy Association regarding remedial massage treatment:

In Western Australia, massages that are provided through professional services like physiotherapists, remedial massage therapists and myotherapists are not currently prohibited by the Closure and Restriction (Limit the Spread) Directions made by the State Emergency Coordinator on 7 April 2020.

WA Police Force Liaison to State Health Incident Coordination Centre

Based on this clarification some of our massage staff are available at our clinics to provide massage services. These therapists are maintaining the highest level of infection control for both themselves and patients- see further details below.

Some staff are in self-isolation but we are hoping to have more staff back in our clinics within the next few weeks. Please call your clinic to speak to reception about an appointment. Note- we may not be able to book you in with your regular therapist, however with access to treatment notes, another therapist will be able to maintain your regular treatment program.

Date of update: 26/03/2020

At this stage, physiotherapy and chiropractic care are classified as ‘essential health services’ so our clinics are open.

Remedial massage is currently being reviewed and we leave it up to patients and the massage therapists to decide if their service is essential or not.

Clinic Infection Control:
Since the beginning of the outbreak, we have increased the disinfecting of the clinics to ensure the highest level of infection control. Here’s what we are doing at all clinics to ensure your health and the health of all of our staff is maintained:

  • Screening new patient bookings for possible infection and asking questions surrounding their health and if they have recently travelled overseas or inter state.
  • Disinfecting treatment beds and change towels in between EVERY patient
  • Disinfecting common areas such as reception and waiting rooms multiple times each day
  • Disinfecting all doors, tables, chairs, reception desks, pens, light switches, clipboards, phones, HICAPS machines at the start and end of EVERY shift
  • Providing hand sanitiser to all patients arriving at clinics
  • Provide hand sanitiser to our staff in between patient contact
  • Offering options for physical distancing in our waiting areas as per current regulations
  • Asking unwell staff to cancel their shifts and stay home as per self-isolation instructions
  • Providing staff with PPE (personal protective equipment) such as gloves and face masks

We ask that you assist us further in our efforts to maintain a safe working environment:

  • Cancel appointments if you are exhibiting flu-like symptoms
  • Disinfect your hands as you enter the clinic
  • Try to avoid bringing extra people to your appointment if they don’t have an appointment with us (if possible)
  • Arrive as close to your appointment time as possible so as to minimise time spent in our waiting areas
  • Use cards to pay for treatment. Please minimise the use of cash
  • Maintain physical distancing procedures (at least 1.5m between yourself and anyone else)
  • Cough/sneeze into the crook of your elbow

We have also waived our standard 24 hour cancellation policy in light of the ever changing circumstances and understand that patients are exercising caution in light of their own personal health.

For up to date information on best practice for personal infection control, we strongly suggest you get your information from either the World Health Organisation or from the WA Department of Health.

Coming soon- Telehealth- video appointments

We are working towards being able to provide patients with online video appointments for physiotherapy and chiropractic for patients wanting treatment from the comfort of their own home. Once we know how this will work, if it will be claimable through private health and further instructions on how to book- we will let you know.

Needing treatment when in financial hardship

Dr Joe Dias (and maybe other practitioners) understand that many of you are currently doing it tough financially. We also understand that pain doesn’t just go away and if you need treatment, having to toss-up between making an appointment or buying essentials is a difficult decision to make. Therefore, Dr Joe will be offering discounts to patients who are in need and not financially able to pay the full price in these trying times.

**N.B- Availability of this special pricing is dependent upon need and will be assessed on a case-by case basis.

If you feel that you fall into this category please email us via and explain your situation, providing some form of evidence if possible (redundancy letter etc). Please understand that Joe is doing this out of the goodness of his heart but he also has a business to run and staff to pay. If you are truly in need let us know and we will endeavour to help you out.

We want to thank you for your patience and understanding. We also appreciate your continued trust in the service we provide you. If you have any other ideas or feedback to offer us during this time, please let us know.

Stay safe and all the best to you and your loved ones.

Live long and prosper,
Complete Care Health Team
